A healthy carb snack for baby
by Penny on August 31, 2008
My little boy is one active little one. So active that he has hardly put on any weight. In fact, he looks like he’s lost some of his baby fats. I haven’t weighed him for a long time already, so I don’t know exactly how much weight he’s lost or how slow he’s putting on.
So nowadays, in between his milk feeds and his main meals of porridge, I try to feed him with snacks. Some milk biscuits, some fruits. Today I decided to make him a healthy carb loaded snack for tea time – mashed potato with milk.
I bought some small sized potatoes from my regular organic shop and put one to boil in a pot of water until it turned soft. Then I peeled off the potato skin and mashed it up with a fork until it was almost a powdery texture. I fed baby a few spoonfuls of them and he seemed to like it, clapping his hands and all.

Then I scooped up some into another bowl and added some warm milk into it and stirred it in well. It became cereal-like and I guess a little easier to swallow, if you ask me. Baby liked it this way too.
