Are jellies safe for a baby?
by Penny on August 22, 2008
Baby is turning one in a week’s time. Long before his birthday, I already have plans to buy him a jelly cake. I like how colourful they are and they have many pretty designs and some even come in 3D designs too. You can check out the outlet at Q Jelly to see the real thing or you can visit their
website to see their full array of designs.
There are a few flavours available, namely pandan, fruits, chocolate and cappuccino. I have tried pandan and fruits and like both equally well. As such I’ve not decided which flavour to order. But the flavours are also dependent on the design chosen.
In any case, how safe is it for me to feed some jelly to baby? Maybe the fruitty jelly is a safer bet than pandan because I think the latter contains some coconut milk.
Have you fed jellies to your 1-year old before? Did they like jellies?

I am not sure but I think they are safe for babies.
Great, at least I have one affirmative there
erm…i think it depends on what type of jellies..
i heard jellies are not given to toddlers bcos they can choke on it. Especially those springy type like the japanese kunyaku jelly.
Fashionasia, thanks for the info! I shall think twice about feeding baby with it and if we do, we’d be sure to be extremely careful about it.
