Baby was clueless what was going on the entire time. Perhaps all he knew was that there were lots of people around him. But I guess the best part for him is that he got to eat some very tasty food compared to his daily diet of porridge, milk and fruits (and the occassional delicious baby biscuits).
We ordered a jelly cake from Q Jelly (outlet at Ikano) three days prior to his birthday. We chose a cute ladybird cake and here’s how it turned out. Cute?

Pandan flavoured jelly cake
After singing him a birthday song and me blowing out the candle on his behalf, we distributed the jelly cakes and I decided to feed him very tiny pieces. He loved it! He kept pointint to it for more after he swallowed each bite. I was quite careful about feeding him very small pieces after I read from Fashionasia about the dangers of choking on them.
Before that, we also let him have a taste of steamed chicken drumstick. According to the Chinese, it’s a good thing to do on his first birthday to symbolise him having good fortune in the future. Symbolic or not symbolic, the boy loved the taste of the drumstick. He took a few bites and here’s his teethmark to show for it.

Real tiny bites huh? He only has 8 little teeth…
By the time we put baby to sleep, it was already 11.30pm, 2 hours past his usual bedtime. We didn’t have time to let him open his presents but we still have tomorrow to do so. The little lucky boy has quite a lot of presents waiting…

I’m sure he’s gonna have lots of fun opening them!
Anyway, it was a good and fun birthday for the parents. It was an equally great day for the birthday boy too, I believe
