Since baby has mild eczema, the paed suggested that I don’t feed him too many kinds of new food within a short period of time. I also need to start a food journal for baby so that we will be able to monitor which food types may trigger skin sensitivity in him. This way, we can help to minimize skin irritation if at all he’s allergic to any food.
So here’s Food Journal #1 for today:
4.30am – 4oz of milk
8.30am – 6oz of milk
11.45am – butter fish & carrots porridge
12.45pm – 3 oz milk
2.00pm – 4oz milk
3.00pm – 4oz milk
4.00pm – 3oz milk
6.00pm – butter fish & carrots porridge
9.00pm – 2oz milk
Looks like a lot of milk in a very short span of time, doesn’t it? It wasn’t that I wanted to feed him that way, but he was just crying for milk almost every hour since he ate porridge for lunch! But it’s weird that in the night he was hardly hungry. I had to try a few times to make him drink up on that 2 ounce of milk before he went to bed.
He’s been consuming butter fish (I finally found out that the milk cod post I wrote about is actually butter fish!) and carrots for over a week now and he’s been alright with these so it’s safe food for him. The next new thing for him to try tomorrow will be an apple! The paed said we can steam it for him but instead of that, we will be double-boiling the apple for him. I hope he will enjoy it.
