Which is a better choice, Berjaya Hills or Cameron Highlands?

by Penny on April 9, 2009

For almost a year now we’ve been trying to plan that trip up on a hill but never made it. Last year, before the boy turned one, we thought of taking him up to Cameron Highlands and enjoy a few quiet and cooling days there. Now, a year later we’re revisiting the plan to have a getaway. Without giving much thought and doing some travel research, Cameron Highlands was still the destination of choice. But suddenly, I remembered we have a place called Berjaya Hills!

So I visited the website and saw that they had a lot more attractions there, from the Colmar Tropicale, a beautiful French theme resort to a Japanese village and even a horse riding experience in the Berjaya Hills Horse Trail! It would be so cool if they have little ponies for the boy to ride on. Of course, he’s too young for horse riding but I just can’t resist imagining how cute he’ll be clad in full horse riding gear including those snug looking breeches!

Whilst Berjaya Hills offers a lot more sights to take in as well as outdoor activities, Cameron Highlands has its quiet charms too, not to mention the inviting steamboat restaurants in Brinchang that I truly enjoy. Has anyone been to both these destinations? Which one do you prefer?

I prefer Cameron coz the weather is more cooling. Kids can have fun with the nature and harvesting their own vegetables & strawberries.

Julie, so it’s true that the weather in Cameron is more pleasant huh? My little boy is a bit too young to harvest vegetables and fruits right now…but I’m sure he will be rather excited seeing the fresh produce because he is quite a foodie! :D

Hi Penny,

We were in Cameron last June, the weather was moderately cool at daytime. At night the temperature would go as low as 18 degrees Celcius. Noon time was so comfortable you can even walk around the strawberry and tea farm without drenching in the sweat.

Visits around interesting places in the Cameron Highlandsalso much much less exhausting because of the cool weather. The cool weather made us feel refresh all day long.

Kids would love the place so much. My 4 year old son until now, keep calling the name “Cameron” whenever we encounter road bends with trees along the roadside. Maybe it reminds him of the nice Cameron
Highlands.

Thanks for sharing your holiday experience, Danial. It does sound lovely and happy :) I agree with you on the cool weather, we went to Gentings and enjoyed the cool air there too. I think it’s time to plan for another family holiday like this :)
