Better maternity benefit for state civil workers

Some time back the government proposed a 5-year maternity plan for its female workers and I thought it was quite ridiculous. I have no idea what happened to that proposal now, because I haven’t heard anymore. Maybe it’s in the trash.
But what the Selangor state government proposed and have approved for its female workers is much better. It is now official that mothers will get 90 days instead of 60 days of maternity leave, whilst fathers will get 14 days.
I love this plan…if only the private sector would also move towards this benefit but I really doubt so.
