Recently I was having a conversation with Busy Bee and I don’t remember how it came about but we ended up talking about maternity wear. I was telling her how the maternity clothes I had when I was pregnant were not so pretty at all, compared to what I see in the market today. I guess the fashion sense for maternity clothes designing has improved.
Busy Bee recommended that the next time I get pregnant I should buy my maternity clothes from Top Shop. Apparently not all Top Shop outlets carry the maternity line, only some outlets will carry them. I’ve not seen them for myself but was told that they are really nice and pretty. I can already imagine that they must be quite chic, seeing how the fashion sense is like at Top Shop.
I was actually surprised to learn that Top Shop carries maternity wear because it just doesn’t jive with their image. To me, Top Shop is always the fashion store for the young and stylish, selling fashion items from head to toe. Whether you’re looking for some cute and sexy thongs, some nice accessories to match your outfit, bags and shoes, Top Shop has it all. And now, they also sell you maternity clothes. Clever strategy!
Now that you know where to find fashionable maternity clothes, go for it. I believe they are considerably more affordable too compared to those at specialised maternity stores. Those cost a bomb and look rather boring as well. And if you are in need of maternity clothes, here’s a big congratulations to you!

When is your turn to buy those lovely and chic maternity clothes ah??
That’s right, when ah?
When I was pregnant, I didnt own a single maternity dress (you know those that looks like a nightgown?), I refused to wear them
. I think I would look like a walking ‘milo tin’ in them since I am short.. haha. I bought my maternity dresses from Nichi, Hush Puppies and some other odd brands. They were mostly in the range of RM50 – RM100 per piece. As I was blessed with a small frame, I could simply fit into any dresses (not meant for pregnancy) that are made of stretchable material. I could even wear them again today if I gain a little weight
.
I just don’t think we should limit ourselves to maternity clothes. We do have a lot of options out there to make us look pretty
Busy Bee, I’m following your footsteps to have a 3 year gap mah…So it’s not time yet!
Amy, it’s true that nowadays lots of regular clothes can also pass off as maternity wear. I think a lot of pregnant ladies are doing that now for 2 reasons – maternity clothes cost so much and they’re not nice!
You’re lucky you didn’t have to buy those clothes!!
