Eyeing another theme park – Resorts World Sentosa Singapore

I’ve been talking about setting my goal to bring Ryan to Disneyland next year, preferably to one that speaks in English so that means Disneyland in the USA. Then when I recently learned about the Universal Studios that just came up in Resorts World Sentosa in Singapore, I’m tempted to set another goal to bring Ryan there this year.

Before this, I’ve been toying with the idea of bringing him to the petting zoo in Singapore as he loves animals. Then the Resorts World Sentosa added more reasons why we should head to Singapore. So many great attractions in one place and best of all, a place close enough to home.

Has anyone been to Universal Studios Singapore before? Anyone care to share your experience and feedback? The one thing that I couldn’t find on their website is the price of the entry ticket. I bet it isn’t cheap and that’s why they don’t bother to list it on the site?

I’m also wondering if it is a suitable theme park for a 2+ year old as I found that many of the attractions are in the form of rides. I’m just worried that most of them are roller coaster types and that means Ryan can’t really go on those rides as he will be too young. Plus, this mummy won’t want to go on those roller coasters too. I find that as age catches up with me, I have a more faint heart for such rides. If I do go on these rides, I better go get some free insurance quotes first! :P

Even if we skip Universal Studios, there are other attractions like the Marine Life Park, Maritime Xperiential Museum and Festive Walk within Resorts World Sentosa itself. Wonder how many days one should spend just at Resorts World itself to get the most of all the attractions.

Does this sound good? :)

Hi Penny,
Resorts World Sentosa is opened (including the casino), but Universal Studios is not. I have no idea when it will be opened to public, I will inform you if I read about it, as well as its admission fees.

I blog about my first visit to RWS. Check it out :)

I’m sure it’s going to be a super fun place. I’ll definitely bring my boy there when it’s opened….

Hi Penny,
Thanks for your interest in our resort. Currently, we have opened four hotels, a casino and FestiveWalk. Our next attraction to open would be Universal Studios Singapore! We have not announced the date yet but it will be soon.

As you have already visited our website www.rwsentosa.com , you would have seen the attractions we have in Universal Studios Singapore as well as the minimum requirements for the rides.

At such a young age, your son may be interested in shows like WaterWorld, Shrek 4-D Adventure and Donkey Live. We also have movie characters like Woody, Po and Puss going around the park as well as other live performances, which may be of interest to a 2-year old.

Our Marine Life Park and Maritime Xperiential Museum are slated for later openings.

Do sign up for our e-newsletter on our website or join our facebook fan page (www.facebook.com/resortsworldatsentosa) to get the latest news.

Hope to see you at our resort! :)
