Thanks for your informative sharing, Hillary :) My 3-year old is now still on 8 ounces of milk, 3 times a day. So I'm quite happy as it is. Think he loves his milk too!

Toddlers don't necessarily need milk, but they do need calcium and Vitamin D, which are readily available from milk and dairy products. Without any milk, it will be difficult to get enough calcium into his diet. There are alternatives to milk, though, and other ways to give your child calcium.

Hi Wendy, thanks for dropping by. Would love to exchange stories about parenting and kids stuff. You have a blog? Perhaps you can leave your URL and we can all visit and share. It's really strange that your little girl won't touch food by their colour!! First time I'm hearing this...hehe.

Hey there, I have an almost 2 year old girl who’s a very fussy eater, in fact since birth. Would love to exchange stories.

Although I must say, it’s getting better now, and I believe part of the refusal was due to teething (she started teething at 4 months). She’s still not adventurous with new food, and is fussy not just on taste but on texture and colour as well. For example, she won’t eat anything that’s orange in colour, other than oranges. How strange is that?

Amy, I've yet to ask the paed. He's due for a jab soon so I guess I'll ask then. He doesn't have constipation problem and we're glad. We give him lots of vege, fruits and water. Maybe these help.

Ai-Ling, that's my hubby's theory too of why he's drinking so much milk, because it's sweet and tastes good to him! We didn't try it but the babysitter did and confirmed that it's sweet. I'll watch his eating/milk pattern and see how it goes.

Michelle, I'm glad to hear it's normal! As long as he's not getting obese or losing weight despite eating, it shouldn't be too major a concern, right? He's 18 months now.
