Earlier in the week I posted about Mothercare’s free exchange of Tommee Tippee milk bottle promotion. At that time I didn’t get one right away because I had no old bottle to exchange for a free Tommee Tippee bottle. I finally did so and here’s what I have to share.
This exchange of old for new bottle is upon purchase of any amount at Mothercare. The only restriction is that the purchase of gift wrap paper and gift cards are not acceptable. There is also no restriction to any brands of feeding bottle that you bring along for the exchange.
Tommee Tippee milk bottles come in several sizes as well as teats with various speed of milk flow. The Tommee Tippee bottle that is offered for the free exchange is a wideneck, 260ml (9oz) bottle, with a slow flow teat for infants of 0 months up to 3 months of age. So if you are doing an exchange of a bottle and need a faster flow teat, you might just have to buy the teats on your own. In my opinion, this is part of the marketing gimmick to get you to purchase something from this brand. There really isn’t a free lunch, unless you have an infant who needs a slow flow teat. Also, the Tommee Tippee bottles that are sold here do not come with the heat sensing tube that I talked about in my previous post.
Speaking of the Tommee Tippee anti-colic system teats, there are only 3 flow sizes available. It ranges from 0+ months (slow flow), 3+ months (medium flow) and 6+ months (fast flow). The diameter of Tommee Tippee’s teats are much larger than the normal teats from brands like Avent and NUK, so if you are thinking of replacing other brands’ teats to be used with the Tommee Tippee bottles, it won’t work.
The Tommee Tippee 260ml milk bottle retails for RM39.90 while a pair of teats in any of the 3 sizes cost RM22.90. You can find this brand at all Mothercare outlets.
