Amy, so you have been through this before and I'm sure you're relieved that things turned out alright for Hayley. I just hope the same happens for my boy. We're now still asking around for recommendations and options...

Mumsgather, we've asked for recommendations from the current babysitter too, and she's asking her other babysitter friends but no positive response yet. Crossing fingers for something to work out soon.

Rae, you're very lucky! No one is better than mummy and daddy :) Good for you that your boy is now clingy to you. Feels good, right? Hehe. It's almost a mother's pride...I hope you are right and I want to trust that this will all turn out for the best.

My baby is almost at the same age with yours. For the past 1 year, he's been looking after by my parents. And he basically only see me and my husband twice in a year. Yup ! And I was very scared too that he will resist us as he's more attached to his grandparents than us ! I was surprised that its vice versa ! Now that he's back for good with us, he's so clingy to me than ever !

Don't worry too much Penny, your baby will get through it. All it takes is just a little time and patience. And your baby will eventually get over it. Trust me.

Oh dear Penny. Thats really tough. Have you tried asking your present babysitter whether she knows another babysitter? Sometimes they are in the network so they know a friend or a relative who can help out. You can also ask around your friends, relatives, neighbours, colleagues.

I can totally feel you. I sent Hayley to a babysitter who is also a stranger and I cried the very first day. I don't know her and none of my friends actually used her before. Coincidentally she stayed in the same condo as a friend who happens to know she babysits. Imagine my fear. I just had to give her a try and pray that she will be ok. And thankfully she is quite ok although she very old schooled at times. Hayley is also very attached to her. I cannot imagine having to change her to another babysitter now. I really pity you..

Why don't you get a maid and ask if the current babysitter can help you watch over the maid who will look after the baby? This might cost you more but it could work if she is willing.
