It’s the start of Mother’s Day today. It’s the second time in my life I’m being wished “Happy Mother’s Day” and it feels good. Not because I want to be celebrated as a mother, but because I’m thankful to be a mother. Life has taken a 360 degrees change since the day my boy came into our lives and through it all, I’ve never once wished it any other way.
So how are you mummies celebrating Mother’s Day? For me, it’s not so much as planning a day for me but more about celebrating it with my mum. We’re planning an early morning breakfast and then off to shop at a wet market. Funnily enough, going to a wet market is something that thrills my mum and since we shop at supermarkets all the time, she finds going to the wet market a big deal. Well, whatever makes her happy on Mother’s Day, right?
After that, it’ll be back to home to prepare lunch for my boy. Tomorrow he’s going to get a new menu instead of his usual porridge for meals. I think he’s quite sick of eating porridge twice a day, everyday, for the last one year. So I’m going to steam him some rice and cook some simple dishes just for him. And instead of feeling that it’s all extra work for me, I’m actually quite excited and happy to do so.
Then, later in the day we’ll head out to dinner. We haven’t quite decided where to go, really. I’m almost certain that a lot of restaurants will be awfully packed if not already fully booked. So we’ll need to choose a restaurant wisely. Or maybe we’ll go for an early dinner before the crowd gets in. Early dinners are also healthier so that we don’t go to bed with full stomachs! Seeing how I’ve been having lots of late dinners lately and then falling asleep not long after, I might well be on my way to adding on unwanted pounds which I’m obviously not happy about. But no matter how badly I may balloon up, I won’t agree to taking things like Apidexin as a way to lose the pounds.
Anyway, I’ve digressed…so back to the day’s plan for Mother’s Day. I guess we’ll call it a day after the official Mother’s Day dinner. What about the presents, you ask? Well no, we’re not doing presents this time around. Perhaps we’re all getting more practical. But I am planning a session to pamper myself by getting my hair coloured and giving it a steaming treatment in a couple of days. I guess that will be my own gift to me for Mother’s Day. Now let’s hope the hair colour turns out fine and I won’t be looking like some silly blonde, okay?

Hmm, well …. I was the last to sleep last night and the first to wake up this morning, and the men (hubby and son) didn’t get up until 1 pm! Hahaha, oh well, what a start to Mother’s Day, eh? We’re off to have a late lunch later, and that’s about it.
Happy Mother’s Day to you too!
Sounds like most homes are like that huh?
As long as it was a happy day and you feel fulfilled as a mother, that’s what matters…
