This morning as I was dressing up for work, Ryan was doing his normal stuff of walking about the room freely, playing with his toys and talking to me every now and then. Then he leaned against the corner of the wall lazily, his little head tilted to one side and he smiled at me as I made final adjustments to my dress.
Then he said to me “Mummy sexy”. My eyes almost popped out. I said to him “What did you say?” and he repeated with a sheepish smile “Mummy sexy”. I asked him “Who teach you how to say that?” to which he never replied.
Then he continued with “Boy boy sexy. The light also sexy”. Obviously he doesn’t understand the word sexy, but it just shocked me to hear it coming from him.
Weird compliment coming from an almost 2-year old boy, isn’t it?
You just never know where kids pick up things these days, so whatever we say, whatever we do, we should all be very aware and careful. It’s easy for kids to pick things up but it proves to be hard to get them to unlearn and relearn something they’ve already put in their mind.

guess he’s still at the age where its funny and even cute for him to say that. suggest you teach him other words to his vocab, words that may be more suitable for his use.
*LOL* Oh my goodness, that would have made me laugh till my sides ache! Yes, two-year-olds say the darndest things, don’t they? Guess our boys are both around the same age – Brandon turned 2 in March this year.
Philters, his vocab is amazing at this age and I suspect he picks up more words from having his ears opened all the time than from active teaching! Simply amazing!
Michelle, they do!! What a shocker. Yeah, looks like our boys are the same age. It’s such a fun stage, ain’t it?
I came across this via google and to tell you the truth my son uses this word very effectively. He said this to me one morning when I was wearing a skirt cause I usually wear pants and just this morning I told him to get up and take a bath he said “No mommy girls first”He is also 2 and I am shocked at what he is capable of understanding. Everything he says to me now is entertaining he is the funniet person I know I try my best to guide him and help him understand as well…He is at the point when I use fowl language not coherient of him being in my presence he says “Mommy Bad Word”
Yeah we can’t underestimate what they know these days. Kids are super clever these days!
