Should parents buy more insurance policies during uncertain times like this?

by Penny on December 30, 2008

We’re back from our Christmas break! We had a good time, and the boy had some really wonderful time playing about with our friends and exploring lots of new things around him. He also received a whole lot of Christmas presents. All in all, he got to experience many new things and I’m just so glad that he enjoyed himself so thoroughly.

The year is coming to an end, and a new one would begin in just a couple of days. I got to thinking seriously about the future and what it holds for everyone. Some weeks back I heard briefly of an insurance plan from Great Eastern called Great Junior Advantage Series 2 and I was contemplating whether we should buy more policies in times of uncertainties and economic downturn. We haven’t quite felt it just yet but it will not get any better when the new year approaches. That’s why I’m now thinking more about this policy as it does sound quite good.

However, I’ve not approached any agent to give me more information. I’m sure something good like this comes with lots of fine prints and terms and conditions. It’s just too bad that I can’t get a free quote on this policy. I’ve had some good experiences with getting online free term life insurance quotes and I just love the convenience of the internet.

Anyway, do you believe in putting more money into insurance policies when times are bad? It sounds like a good thing to do for your loved ones, but it sure is hard on our pockets to fork out additional expenses.
