This morning we went to McDonald’s for breakfast. While there, the little boy was very taken in by what we call “Uncle McDonald”. He waved at the seated statue, sat on his lap and seemed contented. We even managed a few photos.
He then sat down and ate some bread. While we were busy eating, the little boy was busy looking about and spotted some elderly ladies who work there. There were two of them and they were cleaning out some tables. The little boy called out to them loudly, saying “Kakak!” (for the benefit of those who don’t understand the language, kakak means sister). The two ladies, who initially went about their work with not a smile on their faces, suddenly lit up and came to acknowledge his calls. They smiled, talked to and even touched him. They even got to talking about their own grandchildren.
Sometimes, it only takes such a simple gesture to open up someone, and to see a different side to them. All it took today was the innocence of a child. I really hope this little boy grows up to be as sociable and friendly as he is now. The world is so much better a place to live in with people who count no barriers.

yes, the world can be a good good place. A smile costs nothing but buys so much joy. A hello and we connect with the world. Strange I need to be told that when it is so natural to a child! Cheers…
We tend to grow up unlearning the natural lessons of life…
So it’s great to have a child at home to “teach” us a thing or two about life!
