Yesterday Ryan was promised a trip to the park to let him play kite for the very first time. So even when he didn’t wake up from his nap at 6pm, we had to gently wake him up so that we could make it in time before dark to fulfill the promise.
He was one nervous wreck of a boy when we first got there, seeing the large crowd at the park. But when we prepared the kite, he got himself involved and was trying to be a useful little helper. Then, his daddy and aunt tried to set the kite free and flying heartily up in the sky before letting him have a feel of flying the kite.
Initially it was really funny watching the dad trying to get the kite up and about. As everyone stood in place steadily to fly their kites, he was the only one who had to back track to be able to control the kite and ended up flying the kite from the car park! Meanwhile, Ryan waited patiently as the father got back the hang of flying the kite.
When it was all smooth sailing and the wind was encouraging, Ryan took hold of the string and began tugging at it, all the time making his own sound effect, “woo-woo-wooooo” he went with pouted lips. It was just so cute and funny watching him. Here are some pictures of Ryan at his first try at flying a kite.

P/S. He’s doing this a lot better than the mummy…I’ve never ever flown a kite!
