Before Michael Jackson died, I have never thought of teaching Ryan who he is. But since his death, almost every audio shop has been playing the King of Pop’s songs, MTVs and even recorded live concerts. We bought the one of his recorded concert DVD (read my review of Michael Jackson’s Live In Bucharest: The Dangerous Tour Concert) and have started to teach Ryan about the legend that was Michael Jackson.
Now he’s able to recognise pictures of Michael Jackson, whether he was then black or white. He can even pronounce his name properly. Not only that, he watched the concert DVD quite intently when we were running the DVD too. So much so that he sometimes asks us to sing him a Michael Jackson song.
Then earlier tonight, he decided to do his funny dance and after that he did a bow. After he bowed, he said “Like Michael Jackson” and we were amazed. We then asked him to continue dancing and singing like Michael Jackson and he did what he thought was it. At some point, he even layed down on the floor to rest, like Michael Jackson did in his concert!
It was all very entertaining for us. Though the legend is no longer here on this earth, he will always be remembered, even by a toddler who has no idea who he was when he was alive. And I don’t think the name Michael Jackson will leave Ryan’s lips anytime soon…

My Ryan did the knee knocking thing which MJ did in all his dances. And Ryan also said “Just like MJ”, this is just after watching some You Tube recordings!

Aww…Hehe. My little 2 yr. old brother is the same. He can see a pic of MJ from when he was a child, his Thriller days, or a recent one and he knows who it is. But he cannot pronounce Jackson right. He says, “Michael Mackons” So cute. =)
