Busy Bee, I suppose I'd have to get rid of the fear of illnesses...but I just can't help feeling helpless whenever he gets sick. Very frightened from the last episode when he got ill. But I think I shouldn't compromise development too huh.

Ai-Ling, it must be so satisfying and you feel like you've done the right thing huh. It does look like the 2nd one will always start pre-school even earlier than the 1st after you've seen the transformation.

Mumsgather, I was thinking of being a late starter also. It looks like I will be on my way to change my mind :D

We're late starters. I didn't send my girl to preschool till age 6 and my boy went at age 5. Everyone gasped and say "What? So late?" Even grandpas and grandmas gasped. Hahaha. And we didn't start hunting for schools till very late as well but once the hunt is done for the first child, the second one is always easier. Just go to bro/sis's school. Hehe.

my elder one started at three. my dh and i freaked out when we went to this one particular place and we saw how mature those other kids were at the kindy...doing colouring and simple math (and we thought that our kid who was three at that time was too young to grasp the basic math!), while ours was at home...busy watching barney & friends! so, it was an one-the-spot decision to enrol our kid there...sounds like kiasu, uh. it was the wisest decision indeed. we saw our lil' boy transformed from a lil' caterpillar into a lovely butterfly by the time he left the kindy at the end of last year.

my younger one started off at the age of two years four months :)

I am kiasu la, started to find schools when I was told that they needed to go to school!!! haha.

But I started with Gymboree so that he is comfortable with other kids, then progressed to the current pre-school. All is working well and I will be sending my girl to the pre-school when she turns 2.

Germs and sickness wise, good to get them exposed soon, builts their immunity faster. Ryan was sick quite a bit in the first 6 months, but then, they started to bump each other with their virus and bacteria that they recover really well! You just need to be ready with a trip to the doctor's.
