Stranger anxiety, not!

by Penny on May 27, 2008

Over the weekend we attended a wedding reception and we brought baby along. Some friends sitting at the same table wanted to carry him and he readily agreed. After some time, I brought him over to another table where more friends sat. They took turns to carry and play with him and he had no qualms about it. He comfortably sat there reaching for whatever was closest to him, be it mobile phones, chopsticks or napkins.

Soon he was being passed from one person to another. It came to a point where I had to keep an eye on who was carrying him because some of them were strangers to me. They brought him from one table to another and he still didn’t show any signs of anxiety to anyone!

Whilst some say this is good for me since he’s not choosy, I’m not sure if it’s a good “security” measure. He’s not gonna cry or scream whenever anyone decides to carry him away!

lucky mum and lucky baby. he gets carried all the way and mummy can take a break too. it is definitely good that baby does not show anxiety – meaning to say that baby has good temperament and good natured too. not a fuss-pot. keep it up baby

True, the mummy gets to take a break. So the mummy has more anxieties than the baby?! :P
