Ryan’s birthday is coming up this Friday. He’s turning 3 years old then. We’re all excited and looking forward to spend the day with him. He’s also quite excited as we have been bringing him out shopping for birthday presents. We’ve also been shopping for jackets for him as we intend to bring him to Genting Highlands to enjoy the cool breeze for a change. Because of that, the mummy is also on the look out for women’s sweaters (excuse to shop, ahem!).

I hope he will enjoy himself there, going on some kiddie rides, playing at the outdoor playground, and whatever else the Genting theme park has to offer. I think the cool weather itself should put us all in great moods to start with.

This will be Ryan’s second visit to Genting Highlands. His first was almost 2 years ago, so I bet he can’t remember much about it. Hope this time around he will remember it better.

I’ve been toying with the idea for some time now to do up a photo book for Ryan. I’ve done some before, as presents to others but never did one for ourselves. It’s not that cheap an item to have, but it’s a nice way to store memories and it’s more fun to flip a photo book versus a photo album.

Then when holiday seasons are near, I also keep going back and forth wondering if I should do some fun holiday cards. It’s more fun for the recipients to receive personalised photo cards instead of the normal cards, right? Maybe, just maybe, at the end of this year I might just do some for Christmas. Provided I’m not too tied down and then forget the idea!

This morning I took another shot at what I thought was a cute breakfast for Ryan. It’s little things like this that make a photo book of growing up memorable and warm. Have a look at Ryan’s special French toast. No, it’s not made by me. My art is…erm…limited. His daddy made him this:

Mickey Mouse French toast! How fun! When he looks back at this, he’ll know he was so loved!

The weekend was a very busy one for me but I still managed to spend one-on-one time with Ryan and I’m very glad. We played and laughed, but in between he also caused quite a bit of frustrations in me with some of his demanding behaviour. But I take that all in stride and as part of his Terrible Twos stage although I wish he would quickly get over testing our patience and limits!

Nevertheless it was a great weekend. Ryan had a lot of fun playing with some of his cousins too. We had wanted to set up the inflatable pool for him to play on Sunday morning but it rained so we scrapped the idea and will do it another time.

Monday morning came and I woke up with body aches. I’m not sure why I ached, but very sure it’s not because I’m ill. Maybe it’s just Monday…do you drag your feet when you have to wake up to face work like this polar bear on a Monday?? I do!

And on days when I feel like this, I can’t help but to think how great it would be to be on a vacation. Anywhere will do. Even if you say a break in Penang, I will be gamed. I don’t need expensive and faraway orlando vacations to take away my Monday blues…quite easy to please right?

Anyway, it’s end of the work day now and I look forward to going home and seeing Ryan although I do have to battle the bad jams out there before I get my reward of seeing my beloved son. No pain, no gain, huh?

In any case, I’m quite sure I will wake up refreshed and recharged tomorrow as I look forward to a great week that this will be. I’m actually looking forward to meeting some friends whom I’ve not met for years.

How did your Monday at work go? And for those mummies who are lucky and don’t need to drag their feet to the office, I’m sure your Mondays are much greater than ours! Keep up the good job. I hope to join you mummies soon!

In my personal opinion, it’s  a nice place to meet people in the same phase of life and you know how parents can very easily get along when they have a common topic in kids to talk on and on about! Especially for the mummies!

I’m guessing if you want some tips on parenting, nutritional needs of children, positive parenting stories, losing those pregnancy weight, etc, you might just be mixing in the right network to get all your first-hand information and tips from other parents. Maybe someone can even offer me some workable and safe fat burner reviews that can help me lose those tummy fats?

I’m one paranoid mother. In a shopping mall or anywhere for that matter, I would never let Ryan lean on railings or fiber glass pieces in case they are not secure and collapse. Some people may think I’m really being too protective and worry too much. But you know, a recent case has proven that not all things are safe…

In today’s papers, a dad sues the KLCC Park maintenance firm for RM5 million because his son got electrocuted when he leaned on a lamp post at the park. His son died from the electrocution, which is a big pity. See, tell me that I’m being paranoid. These things happen!!

So parents out there, it doesn’t hurt to exercise a bit of caution when it comes to your kids. As much as possible we as parents should avoid any kinds of untoward accidents from happening. You’ve read so much about how many building structures have collapsed (even roads and bridges can collapse!) in the country, so what makes you think we’re always safe?

Be safe and be alert out there. Here’s wishing everyone a great weekend ahead and enjoy your time with your family and loved ones.
