This time of year, I’m glad that many of my friends are expecting either their first or second babies. Most of them are due by the end of the first half of the year. Seems to me like we’re gonna be having lots of full moon parties to go for

When we got together during the CNY break, obviously a lot of the conversations we had were centered around pregnancy and parenthood. One of the topics that came up was prenatal vitamins. I thought it was just the few common items like folic acid, multivitamins, etc. But some of these ladies were asking for more recommendations so that they and the babies benefit the best way possible.

I didn’t take too many of them, just the 2 common ones mentioned above as well as something called Neurogain for baby’s brain development. How about you? Anything you can share with me so that my expecting friends can learn a thing or two from you?

A good friend of ours is expecting her first baby. Obviously she’s overjoyed and is experiencing all the magical moments of being pregnant. She’s even started to think about baby names without knowing the gender of the baby yet. I can relate to that

At the same time, she’s also thinking about how she’s going to lose the weight she’s gained over the last several months and even more to expect in the coming months. She asked me to share some tips with her but then I don’t think I can because I never really put on much weight during pregnancy.

So that’s why I thought of asking others who have some post-natal weight loss success stories to share their experience. Anyone out there can help?

That was a question a friend recently asked. She is a few weeks pregnant and is extremely thrilled as this is her first baby. I can understand all that excitement and even some worries that come with the magical experience.

But when she posed me that question, I didn’t know the answer. What I told her is that maybe it’s a personal experience. I don’t remember breaking out particularly during pregnancy, but I do know of some mothers who did experience it and some even had it so bad that they had to seek acne treatments.

What about you? Did you experience unusual breakouts during your pregnancies? Some people say that if you are expecting a baby girl, it is more likely to cause you breakouts than if you were expecting a boy. Is there any truth to this? Anyone can share their stories?

Recently I was having a conversation with Busy Bee and I don’t remember how it came about but we ended up talking about maternity wear. I was telling her how the maternity clothes I had when I was pregnant were not so pretty at all, compared to what I see in the market today. I guess the fashion sense for maternity clothes designing has improved.

Busy Bee recommended that the next time I get pregnant I should buy my maternity clothes from Top Shop. Apparently not all Top Shop outlets carry the maternity line, only some outlets will carry them. I’ve not seen them for myself but was told that they are really nice and pretty. I can already imagine that they must be quite chic, seeing how the fashion sense is like at Top Shop.

I was actually surprised to learn that Top Shop carries maternity wear because it just doesn’t jive with their image. To me, Top Shop is always the fashion store for the young and stylish, selling fashion items from head to toe. Whether you’re looking for some cute and sexy thongs, some nice accessories to match your outfit, bags and shoes, Top Shop has it all. And now, they also sell you maternity clothes. Clever strategy!

Now that you know where to find fashionable maternity clothes, go for it. I believe they are considerably more affordable too compared to those at specialised maternity stores. Those cost a bomb and look rather boring as well. And if you are in need of maternity clothes, here’s a big congratulations to you!

I’ve heard of the many Do’s and Don’ts for pregnant women. I’m sure you have heard many contradicting versions too. But one new thing that I learned is that unripe papayas can be a threat to pregnancy.

Unripe papayas apparently contain some elements that can cause uterine contractions that could lead to miscarriages. I won’t repeat this story here, but will point you Every Woman’s Blog to read it instead.
