Best of times

by Penny on July 11, 2011

It’s been some 5 months ago since the last time I attempted to post something in here. In the time that passed us by so quickly, I’ve had lots of beautiful moments of motherhood and I must say it’s not easy to have it all in memory, especially when the memory isn’t quite sharp!

Months and years have gone by, and my lovely little boy is still a little boy to me despite him turning 4 next month. I still call him a baby and he still answers to it. He is a little mature fellow for his age, but with me sometimes he does act a little more child-like and come snuggle up like a baby looking for comfort.

He’s having a good time in school and has made some good friends. Just a few weeks ago we proudly went for Mum’s & Dad’s Day in school where the children performed songs and dances for parents. I’m so proud of the children, for having the kind of courage to stand up in front of a bunch of adults and get their act together. I would’ve panicked and probably forgotten some words and steps here and there, but these children did fantastically well.

Here’s a photo of Ryan with his class teacher. We took this photo after the performance that day and he was one happy boy.

He loves posing for pictures and a couple of months ago he also started to use our phones to snap pictures. So recently we got him his very own camera, one of those Disney ones so that he can have ownership of his photography. We’re looking forward to taking him on a promised trip to the bird park, and I’m sure he’ll have a great time at the park as well as taking pictures. More trips are planned in the coming months, because he simply loves being outdoor and has asked me endless times to bring him for a nature walk. So I suppose that camera will come in well used for all the moments to come.

There will be new moments for him and all of us soon enough. I’ve learned to be a mummy to one in the last 4 years. Now I’ll have a new learning curve to be a mummy of two. It sure is a different ball game altogether, handling the emotions of two little ones gently and fairly.

Nevertheless, I’m sure the future moments are still more memorable and treasured ones to come.

Let’s hope I can keep up with more frequent postings in here…

Congratulations and nice to see you blogging again. Is baby no. 2 out to see daddy & mummy soon? I am also expecting another baby for my son and also wondered how I’ll be coping. Good luck!

Congrats to you too Colleen! :D #2 is only a couple of weeks, so it won’t be until some time he/she will join us :) I’m sure we’ll pull through somehow to cope with them, huh?

Molly, thanks, mom of two already! Hehe.
