I was reading a book that had some very simplistic views and tips on how you can increase your chances of conceiving a baby of the gender that you want. I’ve got to say this is probably just some tips made out of theories, and it’s not proven whether it works. So if you are trying them out and they work, do let the rest of us know! 
Here are the information that I found:
If you want to conceive a baby girl:
Make love a couple of days before ovulation. The female sperm survive for a lot longer than male sperm.
Make love a lot because this will lower the proportion of male to female sperm in your partner’s semen.
Eat a lot of bananas because a potassium-rich diet will increase the chances of conceiving a girl.
If you want to conceive a baby boy:
Make love on the day of or immediately after ovulation. Male sperm swims faster than female sperm and will reach the ovum first.
Make love infrequently as this will tend to increase the proportion of male sperm.
Anyone has tried any of the above and achieved the results that you want?

There are still many scientific way to get a boy. But it’s true that boy is harder to get.

hyperX, I agree, there’re many more ways to do so. It’s amazing how many boys were delivered last year though! Maybe there’s a season for this kind of thing?!

I came across this website called www.boygirldiet.com They sell boy or girl diet plans. Me and my husband were thinking of buying the girl diet plan. On their website it says they’re 96% effective. so i’m really considering on buying it.

Irenelim, male sperm is said to swim faster because the Y chromosome is so, so much smaller in size than the X chromosome. In other words, the Y chromosome has lesser DNA material than X chromosome, so Y chromosome is much lighter than X, so Y can swim faster.
As for me, hubby and I tried for a boy in which we did it 2 days before and 1 day before my ovulation and we got a boy! So for me, this method is accurate at this point of time.

Ya, I have to agree that last year there was a lot of baby boys. My son is one of them.
I am not sure if the above works but I heard of another method whereby they calculate your chinese age and there is this list of months where you can concieve a for boy or girl. Don’t really have the detail but I heard from some friends and family that it work really accurate. Anyone heard of it?

I checked the chart and it shows that I am suppose to concieve a baby girl and since it is believe that the chart is about 99% accurate, I must have fall into the 1% range
Ahh, I see..the accuracy bit. Let’s hope that for those who rely on this chart they get to be in the 99% category!
Somehow I doubt it cause if it is that accurate, then there will be a population disaster in China long time ago.
eat a lot of bananas can conceived a girl, then eat what to conceived a BOY? im already had 2 girls, hope 3rd is a BOY! is very hard to calculate when is ovulation.
