I happen to swing by Mothercare today and learned about a new range of feeding bottles called Tommee Tippee from the UK. Tommee Tippee milk bottles are designed to be anti-colic and its teats are shaped close to the human breasts so that baby is able to latch on smoothly between breastfeeding and bottle feeding, as well as helps to keep up with breastfeeding efforts.

The bottle also has a heat sensing tube to gauge temperature of the fluid it contains. If the temperature is above 37 degrees celcius, the tube turns pink. If the fluid is at a safe temperature of below 37 degrees celcius, the tube will turn blue. I personally quite like this feature because it can sometimes be a bit of a judgement call whether the milk is too warm. In any case, it is still safest to check it against the skin, just in case.
Mothercare is having a promotion for the Tommee Tippee range. With a purchase of a certain amount, you are entitled to bring in any old feeding bottle (any brand) in exchange for one Tommee Tippee 260ml (about 9oz) bottle. This bottle is worth RM39.90 so if you have unwanted bottles which you are throwing out anyway, go and get it exchanged for a Tommee Tippee. I can’t recall what is the minimum purchase required to qualify for this exchange, because the sales assistant was giving me too much information about other promotions as well. But what I do remember is that it can be a purchase on anything in the store, not only on the Tommee Tippee range.
This exchange is valid for one bottle per customer. I wouldn’t mind exchanging a couple of bottles a few times, even if it means at different outlets! Call me a kiasu mum, I think I am when I see a good deal!

Tommee Tippee milk bottle looks good. Maybe a good change from the usual Avent.
Irene, it does look quite unusual. Maybe it’s a better grip for baby’s hands too. You gonna get one for free?
