When I was in the Army, I got ring worm on my leg in 3 places. It took forever to go away. The doctor said it was from maybe the shower rooms where heat and moisture help fungi grow and that it was not a worm but an infection of the skin. I think I was given a cream for it and cleared up in two weeks.
