Why the sudden outburst?

by Penny on January 29, 2008

Sometimes, when baby is fast asleep, he tends to get jerked awake from sleep by a sudden outburst and he will cry for a couple of minutes before he calms down. Half the time, he still seems like he’s asleep because his eyes are still shut tightly. Whilst my calling and soothing doesn’t quite work, he normally will be OK after a while.

I’m puzzled as to why this happens. Some say it’s because he’s played and laughed too much in the day and that causes him to have nightmares. Is this a myth or is it true?

I’m clueless!
