I’ve had a great two week break, totally away from work and I’ve loved every minute of it. Coming back to work today was such a pain…knowing that I’ve got tonnes of emails to filter through and following up with all the nitty-gritty things that greeted me this Tuesday morning. It’s my version of a Monday Blues today.
As for the little boy, maybe he too had his Monday Blues today. This morning before dropping him off at the babysitter’s, we talked to him as we usually do and said let’s go to aunty’s house and he can enjoy playing with his toys, both aunty and uncle and watch his VCD. Normally, he would reply “okay” or “mmm” as an affirmation. But this morning, he replied us with a “No!”
I was heart broken. I thought it was going to be hard dropping him off and that he might cry. But thankfully, once he reached the babysitter’s place, he was smiling and went in happily. What a good boy!
It has made it easier for me to come to work knowing that he’s alright.
Though I’ve just returned to work today, my mind is already wandering to the next chance I get to be off from work again. It would be nice to take some time to go somewhere for a break for everybody, but even with the crazy sales from Air Asia and MAS, I doubt we will go anywhere. I even had some promotions sent to me for deals in Dallas Texas hotels but flying all the way there is really a no-no at this point.
The next best thing that I look forward to then will be any long weekend. I haven’t flipped through the year’s calendar to find out when the next public holiday is, but I’m guessing there really isn’t any this time of year. Maybe once I get over the working blues, I won’t long so badly for another break, you reckon?
