I can’t believe I was totally knocked out and down for 2 nights in a row. We’ve just picked up the boy from the grandparents’ place after a week of not having him around and just 2 days into having him home, this mummy has turned into a walking zombie in the day and a knocked out mummy by night!
For two nights in a row now I fell asleep before the boy. Only to be woken up in the middle of the night to fetch his milk and then to pick up the pieces and go to sleep again. All in all, I got about 8 to 9 hours of sleep following this pattern of knocking myself out early every night. Not bad, huh?
Except that it’s not very healthy because we get home pretty late and therefore have late dinners. Imagine me falling asleep every night on a full stomach, with no exercise at all. I’d end up a big bellied mummy who’d have to look up the internet for all kinds of diet pill reviews!
Anyway, after 2 full nights of 8 to 9 hours of beauty sleep, I do feel somewhat recharged today. I’m not sure what it is that’s making me so tired and knocking me out. Perhaps it’s also time of the month where I tire easily as well as being bogged down mentally. I think we sometimes don’t realise how stress can play a part in causing exhaustion. It could be mental exhaustion rather than physical exhaustion.
I’m looking forward to spending some time awake tonight and catching up on emails and internet time. I’ve missed 2 nights of CSI and can’t wait till Sunday night to catch the repeats. That is, if I don’t fall asleep early again…
